Table For One
Remember that time you were traveling?
You had plenty of coins in your pocket, and even a charge card that
wasn’t max’d out?
Then as you strolled down that tiny cobblestone street filled with shops and eclectic eateries, you watched a waiter place a perfectly plated dish on the table before a couple just on the other side of that restaurant window?
Oh now your senses in full gear...the
scent of roasted garlic streaming on to the
street every time someone opened the
door. And you’re so very hungry...even
your stomach thinks your throat’s been slit!
Yet you just couldn’t muster up the nerve to step inside. The thought of the hostess repeating your words over the loudspeaker “table for one!” had you shuttering in your shoes!
So what did you do? Ya picked up a couple slices of pizza and headed back to your hotel room!
Let’s face it....this is simply a drawback of traveling solo.
Well those days are over! It’s my job to prove that
there are wonderful dining experiences in every city.
Places where you actually can enjoy a scrumptious dinner in a comfortable setting all by yourself!
“Oh....It’s just me!” OUCH!
Sure a man in transit can pop into any sports bar, order a beer and enjoy dinner-in-a-bun, but what if he wasn’t into watching the boob tube (oops, double entendre) and was simply desiring a glass of wine to accompany a petit fois. Would he sit by himself? Rarely.
Although, he might resort to bringing props? Yet reading a menu by candlelight for us over 50 is already a tricky maneuver, bringing a book or newspaper certainly creates a challenge!
Women on the other hand, love to try new places. Room service may be great for romance...but monotonous when you’re alone. Yet women hesitate to venture out to dine alone. Sure it was fun when you were in your 30’s and 40’s....devouring that social interaction, but things change. Wouldn’t you agree that being over 50 traveling solo nowadays is pretty much by choice?
So, you’re on your own again?
Why miss out? Come along with me. Together let’s create a list of comfortable places with great food! Simple. And while we’re on the road again, why not find some accommodations where they appreciate our business and offer a single occupancy rate!
Why stop there? Perhaps this “party of one” would also like to enjoy an activity or be entertained in an atmosphere where it’s simply OKAY to be OVER 50 TRAVELING SOLO!
